Mr. and Mrs. Tan Cheng Boo (Bukit Brown)

Tan Cheng Boo was a partner for The United Sawmills, Limited. Other partners included Lim Soon Bee, Chew Kee Tow, Chor Yok Hean, Chng Kim Huat and Seow Chee Lai. The sawmillers carried out their business at Kampong Bugis and Tanjoung Rhu. Tan Cheng Boo passed away at the age of 57 at his residence, No. 10 Lorong 23 Geylang on 23 March 1940 leaving behind a widow, 

4 sons : Tan Kay Swan, Tan Kay Hock, Tan Kay Teck and Tan Kay Chong

1 daughter: Tan Siew Ngoh

1 daughter-in-law: Mrs Tan Kay Swan

and several grandchildren. 

From his tomb, some of the names of his grandchildren include: Tan Chin Hong, Tan Chin Hwa, Tan Chin Kheng, Tan Chin Beng, Tan Chin Yeow, Tan Chin Guan, Tan Chin Hay, Tan Hwee Hong.

Mrs. Tan Cheng Boo nee Madam Goh Swan Poh passed away on 3rd August 1964 at the age of 70.
