Madam Chan Hean Neo (Bukit Brown)

When i have time, i revisit the Bukit Brown Documentation Website which documents tombs which are affected by the highway and no longer exist and reminisce on who they were and what were their stories, knowing that many remain undocumented despite efforts and in this case, i may not have the photo of this tomb.

Madam Chan Hean Neo passed away at the age of 51 on 9 August 1949. Listed on her tomb are the name of her children;

Sons: Koh Eng Soon, Koh Eng Lim, Koh Eng Kheng, Koh Eng Soo
Daughters: Koh Yang Neo, Koh Chye Neo, Koh Jin Neo, Koh Choon Neo 
Son-in-law: Lim Teow Hin 

Grandsons: Ronnie Lim. Roland Lim, ? Lim, Eric Lim

Madam Chan Hean Neo

Husband: Koh Tian Seng

The marriage has been arranged and will take placed on 25 September 1916 between Mr. Koh Tian Seng of Tong Hin and Co. and the second daughter of Mr. Chan Kay Tock of Chee Seng and Co. In 1941, Madam Chan Hean Neo separated from her husband  (newspaper notice dated 25 July 1941). 

Father: Chan Khay Thock

Chan Kay Thock is the father of Messrs. Chan Kok Leong, Chan Kok Teng, Chan Kok Khong and father-in-law of Messrs. Chew Cheng Siong, Koh Tian Seng and Tan Lye Hoe and grandfather-in-law of Mr. Lim Teow Him. The wake left from 48 Changi Road to Bukit Brown Cemetery on 11 February 1939. 

 

Son: Dr. Koh Eng Kheng

Dr. Koh Eng Kheng married Dr Irene Lim Tean Kiaw in 17 December 1955. Dr. Irene Lim Tean Kiaw is the daughter of Dr. Albert Lim Liat Juay and Madam Mary Lim. 

Daughter: Koh Yang Neo

A wedding in the reformed style was held at the Chinese Consul-General's Office in October 1936 between Mr. Lim Teow Hin (eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Lim Soon Bee) and Miss Koh Yang Neo, (eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Koh Tian Seng).
