Family
Son: Cheang Eng Cheong
Cheang Eng Cheong worked for Shell and was one of the recipients of 35 years' service. This was reported on 11 February 1953. A shocking article dated 20 April gave me further insight that all was not well at home. Cheang Eng Cheong of Guillemard Road reported an anonymous letter outside his door on 8 Jan 1953 which threatened him with assault. He took the letter to the police. A few days later the police came and took away 2 exercise books belonging to his son, George Keng Chuan who was eventually charged with criminally intimidating his father. A handwriting expert testified that George's handwriting was similar to that in the letters.
Son-in-law: Lim Say Hin
Lim Say Hin, a retiring stenographer who served 38 years with Shell said in an article dated 30 December 1954 said that he will spend the rest of his days fishing and crabbing.
Daughter: Cheang Kiong Ghee
A possible unconfirmed lead is the obituary notice of Maria Cheang Kiong Ghee (wife of the late Lim Kee Seng). She passed away at the age of 83 on 3 November 1991.
