Kuek Phuay Gin (Bukit Brown)

Madam Kuek Phuay Gin passed away at the age of 26 on 11 June 1940. She leaves behind 2 sons and 4 daughters. 

It is unfortunate died Madam Kuek Phuay Gin passed away at her prime at 26 but what is also interesting is at that age, she has already 6 children. This very likely meant that she married very early and had her first child even before she turned 18.

The tomb leaves very little clues. It is all in English and does not state the name of her husband nor children. What also caught my eye was the intricate altar table made out of marble with the beautiful curve borders.

The marriage took place on 21 July 1962 between Thomas Siow Kim Hock (only son of Mr. Siow Cheng Kim and the late Madam Kuek Phuay Gin) and Winnie Lee (eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ong Siang) at the Kampong Kapor Methodist Church. 

Florist business in Singapore called - Daisy. 

The florist business partnership was dissolved on 11 April 1934. This is because Cheong Hock Chye and Kuek Phuay Gin have decided to leave the partnership. The business after that will continue under the same name - Daisy, but with Loh Khie Lock and Lee Tian Hoe helming the business.
