I am back again in Ubin and this time is on my own to do some birdwatching. I wanted to take picture of the Green Imperial Pigeon which i saw on Ubin Day (4th June) and also the Black Hornbill. The long story short, i manage to spot the Green Imperial Pigeon after spending almost the whole day in Ubin. Such is life. There were 4 yesterday (when i didn't bring my camera and binoculars) and i managed to catch the photo of only one on 5th of June when i was just about to give up waiting for it, it perched for a while before it chased away by the Oriental Pied Hornbills who were also feasting on the fruits of the False Curry Leaf Tree (Clausena excavata) and exhibited territorial behaviour by chasing the Green Imperial Pigeon.
It was a total lost, and although i didn't manage to catch sight of the Black Hornbill, in my long wait, i spent time walking around Ubin and also to the Pekan Quarry area to catch pictures of some of the birds you see below.
