Mrs. Lim Tiang Soon nee Ang Nya Chik (Bukit Brown)

The death took place on 4 July 1937 of Mrs. Lim Tiang Soon nee Madam Ang Nya Chik, Singapore octogenarian and third daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ang Kim San of Malacca, at her residence, 376 Race Course Road. According to the newspaper article, Madam Ang Nya Chik was 83 years old when she passed away and leaves behind 22 descendants, 
a son - Mr. Lim Kee Cheok, 
2 daughters, Mrs. Chua Kim Swee and Mrs. Lim Bachik, 
6 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, 3 great grandsons and 3 great daughters. 

From her tomb, i can gather that Madam Ang Nya Chik was born on 16 February 1858 and passed away on 4 July 1937. (Roughly 79-80).
From her marble tomb, after some careful cleaning, we manage to make out the names of her children;
Son: Lim Kee Cheok
Grandsons; Lim Inn, Lim Chui Tor George, Lim Chui Chye Arthur
Great grandsons: Lim Cheng Hye, Lim Cheng Hock 
Daughters: Lim Hock Neo, Lim (Teo) Hood Neo
Granddaughters: Lim Chui Lian, Lim Geng Neo
Great granddaughters: Rosie Lim

Family 

Husband: Lim Tiang Soon (1853-1890)
Mr. Lim Tiang Soon was the Superintendent Clerk of the former Tanjong Pagar Co. Ltd. 

Son: Lim Kee Cheok 
Lim Kee Cheok was a well known sporting enthusiast, founder of the Straits Chinese Football Association, President of The Clerical Union and Badminton and football Clubs. He was also the Chairman of the Asiatic Unemployment Fund and Partner at Lim Kee Cheok Co.
379 Race Course is the residential address of Lim Kee Cheok. 
 
Appointed Commissioners of the Peace on 8 January 1923, he appeared in numerous newspapers articles for his community service and work to improve the status of the Clerical Union, Asiatic Unemployment and Badminton in Singapore. 

Mrs. Lim Kee Cheok nee Madam Tan Chwee Neo passed away at the age of 56 at her residence, No. 376 Race Course Road at 3:30pm on  21 July 1939. Madam Tan Chwee Neo is the 6 daughter of Mr. Tan Say Hin and Madam Yeo Lam Neo. 
She left behind her husband, Lim Kee Cheok, 
2 sons; George Lim, Arthur Lim, 
1 adopted son, Lim Inn, 
2 daughters, Mrs. Tan Chin Bock and Miss Beauty Lim, 
1 adopted daughter, Miss Lee Ah Umh 
1 son-in-law; Tan Chin Bock 
and 6 grandchildren. 
Mrs. Lim Kee Cheok is buried in Bukit Brown (Block 4 Division C, plot 1257). The funeral procession was attended by over 200 members of the Lim Clan and family and friends. 



In 1934, Lim Kee Cheok public record was blemished when he was charged for 2 counts of breach of trust and found guilty of criminal misappropriation of $1,040.50 (property of the Kew Bock Lian Hup Huay Society). He was fined $500 and avoided jail term in view of his record of public service. He resigned from all public appointments subsequently. 

I haven't found the obituary notice of Lim Kee Cheok, but he passed away before 1948 from what i gathered so far. 

Son: Lim Kee Siew (1883 - 13 August 1921)
Lim Kee Siew name was not listed on the tomb of Madam Ang Nya Chik because he passed away before her, but thanks to an article i found, i manage to get more details not only about this son but also about his father, Lim Tiang Soon. 

Lim Kee Siew joined the Tanjong Pagar Dock Co, as a transshipment clerk at the age of 16 and later took up a position as building overseer under Mr. S. Tomlinson and later joined the Westminster Construction Co., Ltd as overseer in charge of the Anderson Bridge works. In 1909 he joined Messrs. Lim Kee Cheok and Co. contractors as manager and held this post until his passing. He was 38 years old when he passed away on 13 August 1921 at his residence, No. 33 Kampong Bahru Road and 2 years junior to Mr. Lim Kee Cheok. 
Lim Kee Siew was buried at the Lim Cemetery (Tiong Bahru). 

Granddaughter: Lim Chui Lian  / Mrs. Tan Chin Bock
Mr. Tan Chin Bock (son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tan Teck Bee) married Miss Lim Chui Lian (eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lim Kee Cheok) around June 1937.

Mr. and Mrs. Tan Chin Bock 

Mrs. Tan Chin Bock nee Lim Chui Lian passed away in May 1954.
