The engraving on the tomb of Tay Cheng Yam who passed away at the age of 26 was very faint. Some of the words look weird to me. It didn't help that the stone itself was very damp due to previous day rains. However after some patience, i could make out that the tomb was not just engraved in Chinese and English, it had Malay words as well ! This to me was very rare. After years of exploring both Bukit Brown, Greater Bukit Brown and Kopi Sua, seeing tombs with Malay words engraved on it is very rare.
