Gan Tiang Keng (Bukit Brown)

Gan Tiang Keng is one of the adopted sons of Gan Eng Seng. Gan Tiang Keng passed away on 18 January 1926. He is survived by;

The newpapers reported on 20 January 1926 of the sudden demise of Mr. Gan Tiang Keng at 28-1 Grange Road. The article described as one who was in several industrial undertakings locally. He is survived by a widow, a daughter and 2 sons.  From the burial registrar, Gan Tiang Keng was listed as 50 years of age. 

From another obituary notice. i make inference that Mrs. Gan Tiang Keng is the daughter of Mr. Lim Kok Yong and Madam Quek Chit Neo. Her tomb is also constructed but i do not see the date of death etched on it.

The was an announcement of marriage between Mr. Gan Hock Chwee (son of Mr. Gan Tiang Keng) and Miss Yeo Hay Neo (daughter of Mr. Yeo Say Chye) at No 28-1 Grange Road on 30 March 1921. The wedding took place on 2 April 1921. On 19 August 1923,  a son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gan Hock Chwee at 28-1 Grange Road. 

Gan Hock Chwee was involved in the business of Messrs. Keng & Cheng (suppliers of labour, boiler cleaners caulkers, and ballast, dunnage-mats, clean tanks, bildges and Steverdore , carried out at No 28-1 Grange Road as sole Proprietor from 1st day of February 1926. It was later renamed as Keng & Sons.

Gan Hock Chwee, Managing Director of Keng & Sons Pte. Ltd. passed away at his residence leaving 3 sons, 5 daughters, sons-in-law, grandsons and granddaughters. (15 October 1972). Cortege left from 20 Jalan Kabangan (Kembangan) for cremation at Changi.
