I first posted about Chin Chung Public School back in 12 December 2021. The school no longer exist but its foundation and the steps leading to the school from Jalan Berahi were found to be still intact inside a thriving jungle. When i shared my post, the place attracted the attention of many hikers. To us, it is a special place because our friend, Soh Ah Beng actually studied in Chin Chung Public School back in 1971 when he was in Primary 1 student in 1971. When he left, he never stepped back to the school again until 2021 when we "rediscovered this place".
This article continues from where i left off, giving a bit more insight about the school, its principals and some photos of its students too.

The past principal's and student population
This article is a continuation, giving more details about this school. This school existed even before 1971. The school was founded back in 10 October 1930. The first recorded school principal joined in January 1946 and stayed on for 2 years until December 1947. The second principal joined in January 1948 and stayed for 19 years until he retired in December 1966. The third principal (Tan Teck Hau) was principal from September 1967 and stayed on 3 years and 4 months to December 1970 (where he transferred to Principal of another school).
Chin Chung Public School in 1948 had a population of 101 students with 3 classroom and 3 teachers. By 1958, it grew to 354 students with 12 classrooms and 12 teachers and by 1971, the student population was 438 with 15 classrooms and 12 teachers.

Chin Chung Public School (振中学校) -before 1971
From my previous article, you saw pictures of how the school looked like in 1971. But how did it look like before 1971 ? Fortunately i am able to find photos of it as well, from back in 1946.

I'm curious that the female teachers were addressed as "先生", same as the male teachers. In today's context, 先生 translates to mister. But I guess in the past, 先生 could refer to teacher (or sinsei in Japanese).
