I was fortunate to be able to watch and document the pre-exhumation ritual that took in place for Mr. Tan Boon Lai who passed away in 1952. His tomb is located in Lao Sua. His descendants have decided to "move house" for not only their "Ah Kong" but also their two "Ah Mahs" who are buried in Bukit Brown Cemetery and Toa Payoh Cemetery respectively.

Essentially from what i can make out from the rituals was prayers that was mentioned in hokkien (if you have any more insights, do leave a comment below)
First part of video - prayers directed to the Earth deity to inform that they are present here to pray and to inform that they want to "move house" or exhume the tomb of their grandfather and the place they want to move him too.
The second part of video - prayers directed now to their grandfather to inform him of their intend to move him to Mandai and they have brought with them offerings of food and of new clothing for him to wear. Information on when the moving house will happen and where will they be moving house too was also shared. The last bit of the video, you can see the tomb digger using the changkul to hit to top soil behind the tomb
The final part of the video was the burning of the paper offerings before dispersing.
