Lim Geok Khoon (Bukit Brown)

Lim Geok Khoon passed away on at the age of 5 on 6 October 1935. The cause of death that led to her untimely death was typhoid fever. Miss. Lim Geok Khoon is one of the daughters of Mr. Lim Khiam Soon (also buried in Bukit Brown). It was not the first time i seen her tomb, but it was only today it dawned upon me after the recent years of rediscovering her family members, including her father, Lim Khiam Soon, her mother, Wee Kim  Choo, her brothers; Lim Kim Siew and Lim Kim Hock and her sister; Lim Geok Hiok. 

The key points that made me think she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lim Khiam Soon was other than her surname, generational name, village of origins - it was the the tomb structure which looks very similar to the one of her brothers who passed away of typhoid fever 2 years after her death that got me thinking about the connection. A check with one of the descendants confirmed it !

Brothers: Lim Kim Siew and Lim Kim Hock 

Lim Kim Siew passed away at the age of 9 on 6 January 1937. His older brother, Lim Kim Hock passed away at the age of 12 on 13 January 1937. This means that both brothers passed away around 6 days apart from each other. Both passed away due to typhoid fever. Lim Kim Siew and Lim Kim Hock tomb was built in the same style as their sister, Lim Geok Khoon.
