Lim Kang Swee passed away at the age of 42 on 6 February 1944. His marble tomb is simple but what strike me as so unique, as etched on the tomb - Nationality Hokkien Syonanto.
That in itself is very rare to see on any tombs in Bukit Brown not to mention tombs during the Japanese occupation era. It is also rare to see the word Syonanto - the name of Japanese occupied Singapore etched on chinese tomb in Bukit Brown.
The last is of course, the calendar usage for this tomb - it has both the Republic of China / Minguo calendar and the Japanese koki calendar reflected on the tomb.
As for Mr. Lim Kang Swee himself, i don't any information about him at the moment.
Location of tomb
Block 3 Section C, plot P112
