Koh Saik Keong (Bukit Brown)

Koh Saik Keong passed away at the age of 61 at his residence, No. 390 Joo Chiat Road on 18th May 1933. He leaves behind his wife, 1 daughter, Mrs. Seow Beng Cheng (Koh Cheng Neo), 1 son, Koh Cheng Hoon, 1 son-in-law, Seow Beng Cheng,1 grandson-in-law, Sim Meah Ser (of the Goodyear Orient Co. Ltd) and several grandchildren. Mrs. Koh Saik Keong (nee Tan Chit Neo) passed away at No. 390 Joo Chiat Road on 28th May 1951. She leaves behind the only daughter, Mrs. Seow Beng Cheng (Koh Cheng Neo) and several grand and great grandchildren

There is not much background information (at the moment) on Mr. and Mrs Koh Saik Keong other than their residential address of 390 Joo Chiat Road. I am unable to get any information about their son, Koh Cheng Hoon, but it is very likely he passed away sometime between 1933-1951, since his name was not mentioned in the obituary notice of her mother, Mrs. Koh Saik Keong. Their grand-daughter, Miss Nancy Seow (eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seow Beng Cheng) married Mr. Sim Meah Ser (youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Sim Piak Cheng of Singapore).

What is also unique from this tomb that needs mention is the pedestal that is the courtyard of the tomb of Mr. and Mrs. Koh Saik Keong. It highlights clearly the contractor that built the tomb, Chin Heng, 1930.
