I don't much information at the moment about the family members of Tan Guan, except for his nephew, Tan Keng Cheng of Tan Kah Kee & Co. Ltd, Rubber Manufactory who in 1930 appeared in the various newspapers for being the factory manager for Mr. Tan Kah Kee rubber factory at Sumba Road (in the Rochore district) that was shot and badly wounded when two people with revolvers fired point blank at him outside his house in Oxford Road. Tan Keng Cheng was said to be a trusted employee, having worked for Mr. Tan Kah Kee for over 17 years. From the newspaper reports, the attack on him could be because of the recent threatened labour strike which Tan Keng Cheng was responsible in stopping and getting the workers to go back to work. Following the incident, 2 threatening letters were sent to him (written in Chinese and contained the threat that his life was in danger and purported to originate from the "Malayan General Labour Union", which the papers branded as a local Communist organisation). Tan Keng Cheng was 40 years of age in 1930 and lived with his wife and family at Oxford Road. What i do know is that Tan Keng Cheng did survived the shooting in a photo the following year where Tan Kah Kee, K.H. Oon and Tan Keng Cheng hosted the Governor General of the Philippines.
