It started with tomb keeper, Soh Ah Beng helping to upright a small plot granite with the number 19 while we are at Block 1 Division C. This small granite stones are common plot marker stones that you will see when you explore around Bukit Brown. There is also a tomb nearby this marker with the plot number 19A etched on its headstone. The person buried there according the burial registrar is Mr. Teo Wha Key who passed away on 13 April 1942 (a wartime grave).

| So much space in between marker 19 and the tomb 19A |
It was Raymond Goh that alerted us after checking the burial registrar for 13 and 14 April 1942 that this area is possibly a mass grave which explains the large amount of space between the plot marker and tomb 19A. From the burial registrar there is evidence of this, with a total of 6 souls buried here. What is for sure is the following are buried here with only 19A with tombstone and no tombstone / headstone for 19B and 19C
- Teo Wha Key (30 years old) -plot 19A
- ? Seow Hwee (18 years old) - plot 19B
- Chan Ah Mui (34 years old) - plot 19C
- Ng Seow Poh's child (13 days old) - plot 19.2
- Phang See Leck (1 year 10 months) -plot 19.3
- Chua Peng Yuan (11 months) - plot 19.4

I have shared before, evidence of children sharing a plot before (see further reading) but this find is very interesting, as it is a war time plot, where possibly adults and children sharing an enlarged plot - with total of 6 souls buried together.
