Mrs. Tan Wan Liat nee Poey Geok Im passed away at the age of 39 at No. 19A, Lorong 21, Geylang Road on 28 August 1943 leaving behind her husband and 2 children.
On her tomb there are 2 calendar system dates- the Japanese Koki Calendar below the altar table states she passed away on 28 August 2603, while on her marble headstone, the death year follows the Republic of China calendar system that states 33 year of Republic China. Both of course meant that she passed away in 1943.
