Khoo Kee Swee (Lao Sua)

While exploring the jungles of Lao Sua, you will come across many tombs in various state of conditions. Some are in good shape and still maintained by their descendants, while others have seen better days and have fallen apart. This tomb with marble headstone with lead etching and decorative tiles was broken into 2 and i would say it rare as it is written in English for a tomb located at Lao Sua. It reads;

In loving memory Khoo Kee Swee 

husband of Seow Koon Eng 

Born in Singapore

died 8th October 1918

Age 35

Son: Cheng Geok (Adopted)

Daughter: Maudie Khoo

Unfortunately i don't have much information about Mr. Khoo Kee Swee nor his wife, Madam Seow Koon Eng. What i do like about this tomb, is clearly states that the late Khoo Kee Swee was born in Singapore (and it doesn't mention the China province, town or village where he is from. It's possible that he may not even know his ancestry village.

Daughter: Maudie Khoo / Khoo Kiat Neo 

The engagement is announced between Mr. Wee Whi Lock (alias Johnny) , youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wee Lip Hean and grandson of the late Mrs. Wee Kay Seck and Miss Khoo Kiat Neo  (Maudie), only daughter of the late Mr. Khoo Kee Swee and Mrs. Khoo Kee Swee and granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Khoo Jee Leng. The marriage will take place on 13 September 1932.

I only found an article where there was an instruction for public auction for 21 February 1879, land belong to Khoo Jee Leng situated at Pyah Lebar (Paya Lebar) estimated to be over 19 acres put up for public auction.
