Low Khie Chiang was the Hon. Treasurer for the Geylang Straits Chinese Association.
Reading articles prior to 1923, brings me to a puzzling incident which could be possibly related.
It starts with August 1922 where a large gathering attended the residence of Mr. Low Keok Choey, (manager of Messrs. Guan Kiat and Co). His residence was called Chop Ban Watt (29/30 Dhoby Ghaut) and the occasion was the marriage of his eldest son, Mr. Low Khie Chiang.
However something major happened and within the same year in November 1922, a notice was put up by Low Keok Choey that his son, Low Khie Chiang and his wife, Lee Jee Muay (this is is the part that didn't match with the rest of the details) left his house on their own accord. What happened to cause that?
