The death took place after a comparatively short illness of Tay Teck Neo, mother of the late Messrs. Chua Huat Seng and Chua Huat Siang and the grandmother of Mr. Chua Kok Tong (of the local Telephone Exchange). The deceased had just only celebrated her 74th Birthday on 5 November 1921. The cortege left on the 25 November 1921 from 24 Macao Street for internment at Toa Payoh (Bukit Timah Road)
Madam Tay Tek Neo / Tay Teck Neo passed away at the age of 74 on 19 December 1921. Listed on her tomb are the name of her children;
Sons: Chua Huat Seng and Chuat Hua Siang
Surviving Daughter: Chua Chai Bee
Grandchildren: Chua Kok Tong, Chua Kok Liang, Chua Kok Cheng, Chua Kok Chye, Chua Kok Kim,
Chua Suay Neo, Chua Chwee Neo, Chua Khuan Neo, Chua Sanh Neo, Chua Bian Neo and Chua Boon Neo.

Mrs. Chua Huat Seng nee Poh Kim Toh passed away at the age of 56 on 11 April 1930 at her residence, No. 13, Lorong 16, off Geylang Road. She leaves behind
4 sons; Chua Kok Tong, Chua Kok Liang, Chua Kok Cheng and Chua Kok Gim
3 daughters
and several grandchildren. She was buried in Bukit Brown Cemetery (Block 3 Section A, plot 762)
