St. Andrew's Cross Spider (Sighting in Bukit Brown)

On vesak day, a visit to Bukit Brown led to a close encounter with a very striking and pretty spider. Unfortunately, for the person in the picture, it was spotted crawling slowly down his pants. We remained calm and i took out my handphone and took a quick picture before gently removing it to the ground. I was not sure what spider it was and hence decided to post it up on facebook for identification.

[From PatSG]
The striking oval yellow spider was a young adult female Argiope aemula or St. Andrew's Cross Spider. The black abdominal stripes & white bands are more pronounced in older females, but indistinct or lacking in juvenile females.
