Koh Yew Tuan and family (Bukit Brown)

Koh Yew Tuan was employed in Edlin and Co and was a vice-president of the Merrilads Musical Association. He came from a long-standing Malacca family who settled down in Singapore. Koh Yew Tuan was an avid tennis player and played many games at the Singapore Chinese Recreation Club (S.C.R.C.)

Koh Yew Tuan passed away at the age of 46 on 24th July 1931. His residence was listed as 611-1 East Coast Road (opposite the Roxy Theatre Hall).

Mrs. Koh Yew Tuan nee Lim Neo passed away at the age of 37 on 12 April 1929 at 65 Owen Road. She leaves behind a widower, 2 sons and 1 daughter.

Daughter: Koh Keng Neo / Koh Keng Neo, Mary
The Chinese Consulate in Cairnhill Circle was the scene of a wedding between Mr. Soh Chuan Swee (eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Soh Jin Teck) and Miss Koh Keng Neo (Mary) (eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. Koh Yew Tuan). Mr. Koh Yew Lek (uncle of the bride) was present to go give the bride away. The bestman was Mr. Lee Bah Chee and the bridesmaid, Miss Lee Poh Siew. Mr. Li Yen, Vice-Consul acted as chief witness A reception was later held at the Telok Ayer Methodist Church and the Gaylads Minstrels provided a "musical arch" for the occasion. Soh Chan Swee was employed at the Treasurer's Department in the Municipal Office. 


Son: Charlie Koh
Charlie Koh (only son of Madam Oh Chit Neo and the late Koh Yew Tuan) got engaged to Annie Toh (eldest daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Toh Whye Teck). on 2nd December 1956.

Koh Yew Tuan is buried in Hill 3 Section B, plot 795.
