Lee Quee Choo and family (Bukit Brown)

Lee Quee Choo was from Penang before coming down to Singapore in 1911 to start a business in goods trading that included tin ore and rubber. Together with Khoo Koh Wah, they were partners under the name of The East Indies Rubber and Woflram Syndicate at No 50 & 51 Robinson Road. When Khoo Koh Wah retired on 4th February 1919, Lee Quee Choo took ownership. Starting with a capital of $15,000,  it grew to $300,000. When the depression hit in 1921, Lee Quee Choo found himself in credit difficulties. It was from this bankruptcy case, i found that Lee Quee Choo's father (Lee Chin Ho) was a wealthy man. Lee Quee Choo was eventually discharged from bankruptcy in 1923. Lee Quee Choo was the Vice President of the Penang Chinese Union (1929)

Mr. Lee Quee Choo passed away at the age of 53 at his residence, No. 18 Dublin Road on 7 July 1936. He leaves behind his wife, Madam Quah Cheng Neo, 7 sons (Lee Teck Jin, Lee Teck Swee, Lee Teck Oo, Lee Teck Kiat, Lee Teck Chye, Lee Teck Hup, Lee Teck Chee, 11 daughters, 2 sons-in-law ( Lim Kean Cheang and Koh Teck Ee).  

Mrs. Lee Quee Choo nee Quah Cheng Neo passed away at the age of 65 on 7th September 1950 at 125C Thompson Road leaving behind her 4 sons, 6 daughters, 5 sons-in-law, 2 grand daughters-in-law and grandchildren.

Family 

Son: Lee Teck Jin
T.S. Lee of 200 Thompson Road (likely to be Lee Teck Swee) put on papers on 27 February, 2,4 and 6 March 1942 seeking information for the whereabouts of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Teck Jin. It seems that they went missing prior to the fall of Singapore and was uncontactable. What happened to them? Post war, geni.com has information about him (James Lee Teck Jin passed away on 18.8.1961 and was buried in Bidadari Cemetery), but i can't be certain they are actually the same person.

Son: Lee Teck Chye
Lee Teck Chye married Miss Ong Poh Lean (eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ong Cheng Kiat) on 25 January 1948.



Son: Lee Teck Swee / Lee Teck Sui
The engagement is announced between Lee Teck Sui, second son of Mrs Lee Quee Choo of 125C Thomson Road, Singapore and Jennie See Gim Chin (youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. See Cheng Ann of 51 Hooper Road, Singapore). Lee Teck Sui passed away at the age of 46 on 5th March 1963.

The marriage will take place at the Penang Buddhist Association, Anson Road, Penang on 14th March 1937 of Mr. Cheah Tong Eng, managing Proprietor of the Penang firm, the Overseas Trading Syndicate (eldest son of Mrs. Cheah Oon Chaing of Penang), and Miss Lee Hooi Teng, (third grand daughter of Mr. Lee Chin Ho and daughter of the late Mr. Lee Quee Choo and Mrs. Lee Quee Choo of Singapore

Daughter: Lee Gim Teng
The Wedding of Mr. Koh Teck Ee and Miss Lee Gim Teng happened around October 1931.
