Miss. Lucy Seow (Bukit Brown)

While exploring, we found a beautiful but small marble tomb of a 3 year old baby girl. Etched on the tomb was the words;

Seow Beng Cheng

Born: 8th Oct 1927

Died: 21st Dec 1931

From the burial records, Miss. Lucy Seow (second daughter of Mr. amd Mrs. Seow Beng Cheng) passed away at the age of 3 on 21st December 1931. Her tomb is located at Block 3 Division B, plot 539

Who is Lucy Seow?

There is an article which mentions of a Miss Nancy Seow (eldest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Seow Beng Cheng) who married Mr. Sim Meah Ser (youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sim Piak Cheng) on 12th October 1940. The marriage took place at 390 Joo Chiat Road.  It is possible that Miss Nancy Seow could be the sister of  Miss Lucy Seow.

In another article, there was mentioned that a  Mrs. Koh Siak Keong (nee Tan Chit Neo) passed away at 390 Joo Chiat Road on 28th May 1951. She leaves behind the only daughter, Mrs. Seow Beng Cheng nee Madam Koh Cheng Neo and several grand and great grandchildren.  From this article, Miss Lucy Seow mother is likely Madam Koh Cheng Neo and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.Koh Siak Keong,
