Tan Kok Cheng passed away at the age of 59 on 13th August 1939 at his residence, 219 Teluk Ayer Street, leaving behind his wife, 3 sons, Tan Peng Eng, Tan Peng Koon and Tan Peng Hoe, 2 daughters-in-law and 3 grandchildren. Mrs. Tan Kok Cheng nee Madam Ho Guat Kee Neo passed away at her residence, 219 Telok Ayer Street on 18 October 1940, leaving behind 3 sons, Tan Peng Eng, Tan Peng Koon and Tan Peng Hoe, 3 daughters-in-law and 3 grandchildren.

There is mentioned of a Tan Kok Cheng who in 1914 became sole proprietor of the firm of Hoon Keat and Co., of 22 Raffles Place after Mr. Ching Keng withdrew his interest on 1st October 1914 (i cannot be sure if this is indeed the same person).
Trustee of Keng Teck Association (Keng Teck Whay)
Tan Kok Cheng was a trustee of Keng Teck Association. In an article below, i get insight that Tan Kok Cheng, Seet Beng Ong and Chee Guan Chiang who were the trustees of the association in 1932 sought the Courts to place the properties such as No. 4, Market Street, No 18, China Street, No 34 Phillip Street, The Keng Teck What Temple, Telok Ayer Street and No. 31 Amoy Street under the general trustee care on behalf of Keng Teck Association
Family
Son: Tan Peng Eng
Tan Peng Eng (son of Mr. and Mrs. Tan Kok Cheng) and Miss Ong Bin Kim (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ong Cheng Tam) on 10th January 1936. Dr. Phillip K..C Tyau, the Chinese Consul-general officiated . Mr. Kwok Yoke Weng performed the duties of bestman. A reception was held at 75-A Devonshire Road. Tan Peng who was on the staff of Messrs. B. Etlin and Co. passed away at his home in Devonshire Road on 24 October 1948 at the age of 43. According to newspapers he was cremated.

One of the rare recent interesting finds was the marble "calling card" or tomb mason marble advertisement plaque that reads:
