Chia Keng Beng passed away at 9 Scotts Road on 21 July 1928 at the age of 64. He is survived by 2 sons, 3 daughter and several grandsons. The executor of his estate was granted to his wife, Madam Lee San Eng.

Will of Chia Ann Siang
The will of Chia Ann Siang (dated May 1884) provided that after the death of all his 4 sons, Chia Keng Beng, Chia Keng Bock, Chia Keng Chiang and Chia Keng Sian - all his immoveable property should be sold and converted to ready cash and proceeds divided according to the directions.
Chia Ann Siang (谢安祥; 1832–1892) was born in Malacca. At the age of 16 he went to work for Boustead and Company. He was eventually promoted to Chief Produce Storekeeper. After over 40 years of service in the company, he retired in 1890. He was also a partner of Geok Teat and Company. A shrewd businessman, he bought many preperty including Gemmill’s Hill, whose name was later changed to Ann Siang Hill.
