Chua Guan Eng and his epitaph (Bukit Brown)

The marble tomb with decorative tiles reads, 

No. 232. F

In loving memory of 

Chua Guan Eng

Died 24-4-40

Age 40 

This is etched on both the tomb shoulders. In short, Chua Guan Eng passed away at the age of 40 on 24 April 1940. His tomb was located at Block 1 F,  No. 232. Affected by the highway, it no longer exist.

What is also interesting is the epitaph below the altar. It reads;

Here lies Chua Guan Eng 

In life simple and plain

Humane in heart and deeds

May he Rest In Peace
