Mrs. Gan Eng Seng nee Madam Koh Eng Geok passed away at the age of 80 on 14 April 1944 at 170 Upper Serangoon Road, 5 3/4 mile. She leaves behind 1 son (Gan Tiang Kwee), 1 daughter, 3 daughters-in-law, 42 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren.

Gan Tiang Kwee was a Director of the Asia Insurance Co. Ltd. (1925), member of the Singapore Po Leung Kuk (1924). Gan Tiang Kwee was president of the Gan Eng School (1935), the namesake school of his father. 
Gan Tiang Kwee passed away at the age of 55 on 15 August 1944.

Grandson: Gan Hui Keng 
Mrs. Gian Tiang Kwee passed away at the age of 70 at her residence, No.51 Dunbar Walk, Frankel Estate on 27 July 1957 leaving behind 1 son, Gan Hock Hye, 3 daughters, 1 daughter-in-law, 1 son-in-law and 12 grandchildren.

170 Upper Serangoon Road

In March 1923, 170 Upper Serangoon was for rent. It was describe as a large compound house with 6 bedrooms, tennis courts and garage. The person putting it out for rent was Kwa Siew Tee. In August 1923, Gan Tiang Kwee bought this bungalow and freehold land with area size of 79,285 sq ft for $16,000 from an auction by Estate and Trust Agencies Ltd. This means that Gan Tiang Kwee own this house from 1923 onwards. On 9 October 1952, there was an auction for this house.
