Lee Ee Chew passed away at the age of 67 on 4 August 1941. His wife, Madam Jim Mue Koh passed away at the age of 61 on 4 July 1948. The name of their children and grandchildren listed are;
Daughter: Lee Teck Hiam
Grandson: Lee Sun Choon
Interestingly, there is one article i found that mentions Lee Ee Chew. It was in the second annual general meeting held in Singapore in May 1934 for the Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC). The chairman of directors, Mr. Chee Swee Cheng presided the proceedings. Among those present that i recognise their names were; Aw Boon Par, Lee Choon Seng, Oh Sian Guan, Tan Ean Kiam, Tan Swee Hoe, and many others. Lee Ee Chew name appears as well. The article is interesting in many ways as its explains how OCBC came about in October 1932 under a scheme of amalgamation of the Chinese Commercial Bank Ltd., the Ho Hong Bank Ltd and the Oversea-Chinese Bank Ltd as a result of an acute stage in the world-wide depression. In short there is a possibility that Lee Ee Chew was a shareholder of OCBC and probably had a number of shares too. Other than that, i found no new information about him in the English papers.
