The tomb with no headstone at Gan Eng Seng cluster (Bukit Brown)

Visiting again the cluster of tombs where Gan Eng Seng is buried, there is a large size tomb with no headstone. On the mount of the headstone-less tomb you can make out a burial jar cover. This indicates of course that someone is buried here but who is this person buried here ?

There were rumors that the headstone was destroyed just before the fall of Singapore when Bukit Brown faced intense bombardment by Japanese mortar to dislodge the British defenders. What actually happened, remains a mystery to me. If you have an answer, leave a comment below.

You can see the burial jar cover on the tomb mount

The tomb without a headstone (behind is the tomb of Gan Eng Seng)

This reminds me of the time when we came across a family during Qing Ming on 25 March 2016 where they were praying over a tomb without headstone. They claimed also the headstone was destroyed during the battle that took place before the fall of Singapre
