The tomb of Chan Boon Seng is unique because it has Malay, English and Chinese written on his tomb. The tomb reads;
曾文生
Chan Boon Seng
Tahon Naga
Born Bulan 9 Hari 14
Died Bulan 6 Hari 25
3rd August 1926
No. C. 36
What is interesting is reading that Chan Boon Seng was born in 1891, Tahon Naga. Naga could be translated as Serpent (from Sanskirt) and hence interpreted as being born on the year of the snake. For me i take it from a different perspective as Naga in Baba Malay (as Chan Boon Seng would have spoken when he was alive) means Dragon. So i will take it that he was born in the Year of the Dragon. Year of Snake in baba malay would have been Ulair or Ular.
