Saw Poo Choo Neo (Bukit Brown)

 Madam Saw Poo Choo Neo tomb had collapsed when we encountered her tomb. The beautiful decorative tiles and cement tiles (from Tampenis Cement Tile) was what caught our eye intitally. After up-righting all the fallen stones, many stories can be made out from her tomb. The most obvious and tragic one was that Madam Saw Poo Choo Neo passed away at a young age of 17 on 6 May 1922. At 17 years of age, she already has 2 children; Lim Teck Guan and Lim Kim Kark.

The other is engraving mistakes by the tomb mason (this is only spotted if you can read chinese which i couldn't but fortunately this was explained to me). The tomb mistakenly carved the gender of Madam Saw has male and her daughter has male too. This mistakes are definitely big no's no's and the tomb mason likely got away it possibly because the family of Madam Saw can't read chinese ? 

The burial record provides an important information has it does not list Madam Saw Poo Choo Neo name on it as most records usually list the maiden name, but instead list her name as Mrs. Lim Soon Hoe. 

Location of tomb 

Madam Saw Poo Choo Neo nee Mrs. Lim Soon Hoe is buried in Block 1 Division E, plot 37.

Also interesting is the decorative tiles on the tomb shoulder which are made overseas and the floor tiles or cement tiles from the Tampenis Cement Tiles Works.
