Mrs. Cheang Hong Lim nee Madam Yeo Kum Neo (Bukit Brown)

Mrs. Cheang Hong Lim nee Madam Yeo Kum Neo remains were re-interred to Bukit Brown on 20 June 1935.  The surrounding cluster were also tombs that moved here including the tombs of Madam Khoo Beng Choo (Mrs. Cheang Jim Khean) and Mrs. Cheang Jim Kong.

This cluster of tombs were the ones relocated from Alexandra Cemetery as well as Cheang Hong Lim's private cemetery off Alexandra Road (Cheang Hong Lim Burial Ground, Stirling Road Lot 115 MK 1 ) and maybe the surrounding cemetery in that area.

The photo belong you can see the Chinese cemetery map from 1966 overlay above the existing map. The cemetery on the maps existed until 1970 before the 1971 map showed flats. But the tombs in cluster moved much earlier in 1935 as you can see. Cheang Hong Lim moved only on 1961 ( a difference of 26 years). Why was this so ? Was the cemetery developed in stages impacting the former residents gradually until finally affecting Cheang Hong Lim's private plot ?
