Mr. Chua Seng Kee passed away at the age of 55 at his residence, 75 Lorong K, Telok Kurau Road on 29th November 1945. He leaves behind his wife, 3 sons, (Chua Kim Cheng, Chua Kim Kiah and Chua Thiam Swee, 1 adopted son, Lee Pang Seng, 3 daughters, Chua Guat Imm, Chua Guat Choo and Chua Guat Chwee ) and 1 son-in-law, Khoo Teng Soon.

Note: In short, from the tomb, Chua Kim Kiah and all the daughters name match the obituary notice. I am not sure why the difference for the 2 other sons. The name of Mr. Chua Seng Kee and death date matches the one on the tombstone.

Mr. Cua Kim Kiah married Ms. Lim Poh Chin (elder daughter of the late Mr. Lim Buan Long and Mrs. Lim) in July 1949.

The engagement was announced on 10th July 1944 of Mr. Khoo Teng Soon (editorial staff of Domei News Agency, Syonan, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Khoo Thiam Swee) to Miss Rosie Chua Guat Im, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chua Seng Kee. Before the fall of Singapore, Mr. Khoo was sports editor of the Malaya Tribune Press. In 1973, Khoo Teng Soon was among 40 employee who received long service awards at the Straits Times annual dinner. He joined the Straits Times in December 1948 after starting his career with the Malaya Tribune in 1939.

Mr. Aw Thian Wah (son of Mr. and Mrs. Aw Hong Hoo of Penang) married Mable Chua Guat Chwee (youngest daughter of the late Mr. Chua Seng Kee and Mrs. Chua Seng Kee of Telok Kurau Singapore) on 1 February 1958. The couple are both employees of KLM airline.
Whitley Hokkien Cemetery or Bukit Brown Cemetery ?
In Chua Seng Kee's obituary notice, it is said that funeral will take place at Bukit Brown but in fact the tomb is located at Kopi Sua.
